My daughter is having a Moana themed party this year for her birthday, so I’ll be sharing some fun Moana party ideas over the next few weeks! This post is about our Kakamora Coconut Cups. I’ll be giving you the steps to make them, as well as some free templates that you can use if you don’t want to draw them by hand. These look so cute sitting on the party table!
Kakamora Coconut Cups DIY instructions
We started by ordering a set of plastic coconut cups. There are several different designs available. Make sure to read the reviews before purchasing. The inexpensive options are thinner and don’t stay together as well, but may work fine if you are just planning on one time use!
I used these templates. Cut them out first. You can use a hole punch for the small dots.
Tip: The lids on our coconut cups weren’t staying on very well during the crafting process, so I taped them on and that really helped!
I chose to put the basic faces on the cups with Sharpie. *Edited to add: Please note that Sharpie will eventually wash off!*
I wanted a bit more color on the cups, so I used construction paper to add a decoration to the straw with this template. I cut out the shape in brown, red and green and added them to a straw. I suggest using a wider straw so it stay’s in place well!
